Craigslist fun and CATS!!

Recently I came across an ad on craigslist asking for images of cats. The artist, Terry McCray plans on painting 100 cats in 100 days. a few years ago I was collecting images of bathroom stalls for a project and i understand how difficult it can be collecting images.

here are the images i sent the artist:

maybe this is just an excuse to post more pictures of our cats.

here is the artist's website: http://terrymccrayart.com/

Egg Sack

I've been trying my best to document my work because I'm in the process of moving out. This is my favorite piece that I have made in my egg series. The fabric is pantyhose and the red string was found at the thrift store. For me, pantyhose represents domestication. In this piece the eggs are forced into a pantyhose sack and then constricted even more by the red string. The eggs represent women themselves while also touching on women's "obligation" to reproduce. I made the sack into a purse, making it fashionable to wear. There are many ways to interpret this piece so I don't want to say too much.
